The Senior Department had an extremely busy and fulfilling year academically, socially and sports-wise.
The social events are always enjoyed by learners. These included Mr and Miss Valentine and the Valentine’s Disco in February, the Senior Camp at Konka, our Bring and Braai in June and ice skating once per term. The Seniors really enjoyed presenting their dance routines in the Concert. The Senior Dance was a glittering affair enjoyed by learners, parents and teachers.
Our sporting calendar was full with the annual Intermediate and Senior Gala in February, the Special Olympics / WWE Unity Soccer event in March, the Special Olympics South African Summer games in April, Sports Day in May and Special Olympics soccer and swimming events throughout the year.
Senior Phase learners participated in a number of community involvement / fundraising events this year such as the Eros Isle Country Fayre, the Bella Anima Fundraiser in April, the Mandela Day challenges of a river clean-up and taking cupcakes to a retirement home in July and the Spur Shadow-Shift fundraiser in August.
Entrepreneurial pursuits included individual and group enterprises for Market Day in August, the Christmas Market in October, Eats and Treats once a term, and manning the Tuck Shop throughout the year. Learners in the Senior Phase attended their Work Experience placements every Tuesday.
The Seniors can be proud of how involved they were in the school programme in 2018!
