Work Experience; applicable to the Senior Phase of the school is considered an especially important part of the preparation of our pupils for independence and maturity. Our Work Experience Programme is the placement of our pupils at an employer’s premises where pupils carry out a range of tasks and duties as an employee would, but with an emphasis on exposure to the work environment.
Overall, Work Experience plays an integral role in developing a learner’s personal and social skills, as well as giving them valuable opportunities to learn directly about the world of work. It also equips our learners with other skills such as communication, teamwork and commercial awareness.
On the 11 May 2021, we were welcomed with open arms by Sycol Plastics (Pty) Ltd where our Seniors could target the following focused skills: sorting, checking, weighing and packing (sealing) of production items.
Kim Kinsella of Sycol Plastics had this positive message for our students “Thank you Team Unity for all your great work today, you are champions 👏👏👍👍”
Thank you Kim and the company for hosting us today which we thoroughly enjoyed!
