The theme of the Unity College annual concert was “We are enough”. By using different art forms like poetry, music and dance, we showed the audience that everyone is enough, regardless of their challenges and shortcomings. We celebrated everyday heroes at school, home, work and on the sports field. The learners especially enjoyed the scenes where they dressed up as superheroes, princesses and cowboys.
Our biggest aim was to involve the children in every step of the process, such as helping with décor, stage setup and providing input on choreography. Most importantly, we wanted each child to have a chance to show their unique talents and skills, as well as have fun!
The event was a huge success thanks to the play director, Nolene Oosthuizen, who is also a speech therapist at the school.
Look out for our next concert, we would be thrilled for you to attend.
Thank you to the Fourways Review for covering the event.
