Unity College hosted a successful tea for therapists of various disciplines, including speech therapists, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists on Tuesday, 23 July.
We were privileged to have informative presentations from the following professionals:
- Ashely Gibbon, a dietician who spoke about nutrition and special needs
- Garth Thompson and Michael Maggs from Personal Lifeguard Services who spoke about water safety and drowning prevention
- Kelly du Plessis from Rare Diseases who spoke about the prevalence of rare diseases in South Africa
- Kim Kinsella from UNIQUE who explained the role of UNIQUE in South Africa and demonstrated how to access information and resources on the UNIQUE website.
The event was followed by a tour of Unity College where we got to share information about our services with fellow professionals. It was exciting to see how enthusiastic everyone was about our school and the services we provide.
We look forward to continuing to expand on relationships built on the day.
If you are a therapist and would like to be added to our database so that you can be invited to the next tea, please e-mail Nicole.
