We started Speech Group sessions on Wednesday the 8th of April 2021 when term two began by sharing our holiday news with a fun language task.
We practiced answering and asking question skills by presenting our special interests and asking each other questions ending with decorating our Speech Therapy work packs for the term. Well done boys 🏆🙌
Other sessions in the short week included, Masks; utilised to practice Topic Maintenance 😁🐯🐨🐱.
We practiced how to stay on topic using these themed masks. When we have a mask of an animal on, we talk about facts and features of that specific animal, and ask each other questions relating to that animal/theme. This helps in a classroom setting where themes are being discussed and we want to stay on topic to ensure optimal learning across the board. It’s also loads of fun!
You will also see our Senior Phase students working hard on task sequencing and reasoning skills during their group sessions 😁🙌
Overall a Fantastic start to the new term and I look forward to what the rest of the term has in store for our incredible children!
