This course is designed for young people and adults who are not yet ready for employment but for whom a job is a realistic aim. Learners may have achieved some Entry Level qualifications in school which they now want to extend to include skills for employment. The course builds all round skills to promote independence and progression to employment or higher level learning(conditions and entry requirements apply).
Young adults are prepared for employment by building their skills, knowledge and confidence through team work and …projects. The modules covered serve to develop young adults through enhancing interpersonal relationship skills, functional financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
The Entry Level 3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in WorkSkills offers learners a flexible, relevant course to improve their understanding and application of work-based skills. These qualifications ensure that the knowledge, skills and understanding they provide are relevant, current and useful for both learners and potential employers.
Modules include learning how to look for and apply for a job and the appropriate behaviour in the workplace. They also involve time management and health and safety in the workplace elements. Students may have the opportunity to take part in business enterprise projects.
There are no formal entry requirements. Students will be expected to show a commitment to learn and to demonstrate that they can study at this level. They are invited to take part in an interview to discuss their learning aims and any learning support needs there may be.
