Our Outreach Programme aims to create awareness and participation in initiatives that support our local community through involvement in charitable events and various fundraising activities.
For Mandela Day 2018, the Senior Phase learners visited Pembury Retirement Lodge to serve the residents with cupcakes made at our school. To support the Mandela Day campaign #ActionAgainstPoverty in 2019, Unity College’s families and staff collected clothes, blankets and non-perishable food that was hand-delivered to Munsieville squatter camp in Krugersdorp.
In a joint project with the Sandton Ladies Circle, our school acts as a collection point for plastic bread tags and bottle tops to support the Sweetheart Foundation. They use the funds generated from these donations to sponsor wheelchairs for disabled people.
Unity College also shows annual support for Casual Day, World Down Syndrome Day on 21 March, World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April, and the Rare Chromosome Disorder Awareness Week.
