A morning at Farnham Stables
For Mandela Day Unity Students across the Phases were spoilt beyond compare by Tamar and her amazing team at the Farnham Stables in Kyalami. When the learners arrived they played water balloon games while the horses were being tacked up. They then each got a turn to ride. ALL our students were so brave! Even those who’d never had exposure to horses before were willing to get up on the horse. After everyone had ridden, they were allowed to paint “Sensation” a little white Welsh pony. This allowed our special needs children the opportunity to interact with the pony in a tactile and fun way. The children were also treated to a lovely lunch of tuna rolls, popcorn, juice and ice cream! Giving back to a Non Profit School for special needs learners was the order of the day from Farnham Stables, and the kindness was appreciated by the students and staff of the School!
Pembury Retirement Lodge
On Mandela Day some Seniors visited Pembury Retirement Lodge to serve the residents with cupcakes made at the School.
In this photograph we were privileged to meet the delightful Gertrude Bruckmann (107 Years old this February)! Mrs Bruckmann showed interest in Sebastian; our emotional support dog and reminisced with Teacher Johann Ackerman about her dog that she misses. It was a truly heart-felt morning serving the elderly.
More photos of the lovely residents of Pembury Retirement Lodge and of course, our AMAZING Students!
Some Senior and Intermediate Students removed litter from the river (off Seventh Street) while other Students tidied our incoming Runnymead Ave Road.
