Dear parents, staff and learners,
My Annual Report will be published in the electronic yearbook of 2019 (publication date 5 December 2019).
I want to briefly speak about the meaning of UNITY; seeing that we are called Unity College.
Unity is:
the state or quality of being one; oneness
OR
the act, state, or quality of forming a whole from separate parts
And that is exactly what we are about. All the bodies, emotions, race, colour and creed are mixed together to produce a unique family called UNITY COLLEGE.
My last 18 months at this remarkable school has been a blessing that not many people can claim to have experienced in their lives.
- I have been exposed to beautiful children that love unconditionally;
- I have been exposed to parents who are completely committed to the well-being of their little people; and
- I have experienced a group of teachers, therapists, support and admin staff that are prepared to go beyond what is expected of them.
The ONENESS that is characteristic of this school, is the recipe that has ensured the success that we saw this year.
The school’s enrolment numbers are increasing and people in our community and beyond speak with admiration and fondness about what is happening at Unity College. So, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your support and commitment to this school. I shall miss you all and my plea to all of you is to continue investing your time, efforts and expertise into Unity College.
Let’s emulate the Springbok motto: Together we are stronger: Stay United!
