Disability Summit & Careers Expo
Some of the Senior Phase learners went to the 2nd annual Disability Summit and Careers Expo hosted by the SABC Foundation on 12 April 2019 at Nasrec. They enjoyed learning about some of the opportunities that they have to consider after school. Our learners participated well in a question-and-answer session for the Airport’s Company and each went home with a new school bag. Our learners were commended on their outstanding behaviour. Thanks to Johann, Nicole and Darren who accompanied them.

Pets theme in the Junior Phase
Teacher Sandy brought her dwarf hamster (Jimmy) to school for our Pets theme. The children got to have a look at how Jimmy cruises through his cage and tunnels. They also discussed what Jimmy likes to eat and that he is a nocturnal animal and sleeps a lot in the day. Jimmy also showed off running on his wheel for the children, which they found very funny!
On another day, teacher Sandy brought her puppies to school. The children had great fun playing on the field with them.

Learning skills for employment
On Tuesday, 16 April, learners assembled plugs at Novalis as part of work experience.
Somethin’ is cooking in this kitchen
The Senior Phase learners had great fun unpacking their pots and pans and getting ready to cook some porridge. Our children are really enjoying the new kitchen and baking up a storm using this fabulous new facility.
