On Saturday, 9 June 2018, ten Unity College staff members took part in the “CPR for Everyone” Course, accredited by the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa.
The course, conducted by Shaun Berman, provided hands-on practice in the skills of CPR and choking for adults, children and infants, including the use of barrier devices and pocket masks, and how to activate the emergency services.
The staff appreciated the practical approach and methodology applied during the training. They took turns being First Aiders as well as patients in learning how to deal with real life-threatening situations.
The staff had to pass a 15 question multiple choice test and successfully pass 3 skills tests before receiving a certificate of competence in CPR, choking and AED. We are proud to say that all of them passed with flying colours.
