Dear Parents, Staff and Students,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and your involvement in our wonderful school. We have had a constructive and successful first term of 2019.
It is with a very heavy heart that we had to say farewell to Robyn Gomes but we know that she will enjoy her new adventure with her family and we wish her all that she deserves on her journey. Nicole Kayton will now be joining us full time and we have appointed a new part-time OT who will be starting during the course of the new term. We wish Shauni Richter well on her new career path and are pleased to welcome Sandra Tunbridge onto our staff; Sandra will be taking over the Junior S class from next term.
We have continued to upgrade our facilities: new white boards have been installed in almost all of the classrooms, the Junior play area has had new lawn laid, as well as a new sand pit installed (we have other projects planned for that area too), and the aftercare rooms are being tiled and refurbished. The fourth classroom in the Junior block is currently being converted into a media room; this will provide us with an exciting new teaching aid where we will be able to engage our children in enriched learning experiences.
Special Olympics held their first soccer match on our new sports field. The event proved to be a great success and we look forward to hosting many more sporting events.
A big thank you to all who supported the opening of our new Vocational Training Centre. Our students experienced what it is like to serve tables and work under pressure in the kitchen. This facility will allow our children to acquire practical skills and training for a working environment.
I wish all parents, staff and students a wonderful Easter break and I look forward to a productive second term.
