Six learners have been registered for these exams, which will be written in the last two classrooms of the Senior Block. We request that everyone be quiet around this area from 08:45 till 12:00 on examination days.
Non-oily, non-sticky snacks such as biscuits, nuts and dried fruit may be eaten during the examination and drinks such as water or fruit juice may be consumed as long as other learners are not distracted. As a special concession, and to aid concentration, learners will be offered gum just before the sealed examination packets are opened. All gum must be disposed of before leaving the examination rooms as Unity is otherwise a gum-free zone.
Examinations dates are as follows:
• Wednesday 30 May 2018 (Literacy Level 1)
• Thursday 31 May 2018 (Literacy Level 4 / NQF Level 1)
• Monday 4 June 2018 (Numeracy Level 2)
Learners who are writing are reminded to bring positive identification to the examination room. Examinations may only be written in blue or black pen and learners are reminded to bring spare pens with them. For Numeracy Level 2 no calculators may be used. All cellphones must be switched off and handed in. On completion of their examinations learners will be entitled to a break and will then join their respective classrooms.
As with matric and other such examinations, some exams are easy, others are more challenging, so success cannot be guaranteed. We believe that our candidates are prepared for these examinations, having completed several mock examinations, and we wish them every success. Go Unity! By Anita Wylie
