Henry Botha’s caring and endearing personality is undoubtedly his strongest characteristic. His colleagues have the utmost respect for this gentleman. He was and is seen a father figure by many of the staff because of his ability to empathise and comfort, especially during trying times.
It is with much sadness that we say farewell to a man who has certainly made his mark at Unity College. A man who had the Admin Block named after him, as he was so very instrumental in the beautiful property that we come to daily. Henry was personally responsible for building the school, for recycling every bit of the previous property to the present one, (making it an Eco-Friendly property), with the exception of the bricks purchased to pave the driveway into the property. Even the tennis court poles from the previous School were up-cycled to stand as our flagpoles! The grass by the classrooms; all Mr Botha.
The School saved heaps with his sharp insight and drive and determination to utilise everything to save Unity College money. This gentleman was passionately involved in getting plants donated by parents and replanting existing plants on the property to spread and fill empty flowerbeds. There is nothing that cannot be done by this tender man who has taken pride in overseeing the maintenance of Unity College for many years!
We will forever remember the tremendous impact Henry Botha had and the legacy he will leave at Unity College. Thank you Henry, for almost a decade of raw commitment to all that is Unity College. You will not be forgotten!
