Teens and Young Adults Social Group
Autism South Africa is investigating the idea of setting up a board games event specifically for autistic teens and young adults. If you know of someone who would be interested, please fill out this form. They hope to be able to set up a regular event based on the feedback they get.
Kayla Kennaugh, from the Intermediate Phase, was invited by the Down Syndrome Association Pretoria/Tshwane and the Honorary Rangers with 10 other kids on a trip to the Kruger National Park. The kids went for three days and nights. They learnt about different animals and enjoyed going on game drives. It was a fun trip and great for gaining confidence and learning independence.
In this regular feature, we get to know a bit more about the Unity College learners and their families.
If you’d like your family to be featured, please e-mail us.
This month we get to know more about Benjamin Phakamea in the Junior Phase. His family was featured in the latest issue of the Special Kids magazine.
